At 26, I left a small fishing village on the coast of China to start my first company — a supermarket chain that grew to become the largest in my province. What Is a Super Individual?

- Technological Inhabitation: Not about knowing how to code, but knowing how to "think with tools" — invoking AI as naturally as breathing.
- Self-Extension: Your capability boundary is no longer defined by your degree or experience, but by your learning speed and the depth of your AI invocation.
In short: a Super Individual isn't a superhero. It's the person who uses AI best.
Four Types of Super Individuals — Which One Are You?
The book categorizes Super Individuals into four types, each with real-world prototypes:
The Technical Type — An independent developer using GitHub Copilot + Cursor + AI agents does the work that once required an entire team. I've met a 20-year-old programmer who built a SaaS product in three months with AI tools, earning more monthly revenue than his internship mentor at a Big Tech company.
The Creative Type — Content creators use AI for asset generation, editing, voiceover, and translation. One person becomes an entire media company. Many viral videos you scroll past? Behind them may be a single person plus an AI toolchain.
The Platform Type — Leveraging digital platform ecosystems to build a personal business empire. A single Taobao shop owner using AI for product selection, customer service, and marketing can generate annual revenue exceeding a traditional department store.
The Digital Clone Type — This is the most futuristic. Through AI avatars, you achieve "time cloning": your digital twin works 24/7 — answering emails while you sleep, processing data while you're in meetings, hosting clients while you're on vacation. As I write in the book: "The future you is not one person — it's a team composed of 'you + your AI avatars.'"
From Fishing Village to Silicon Valley: Anyone Can Be a Super Individual
My experience tells me: your origin is never your ceiling. I was born in a small coastal fishing village in China — no prestigious family background, no elite university as my first degree. But I had one trait: I was willing to be an "early adopter of tools."
When I started my first business at 26, others used abacuses; I used computers. Others relied on connections; I relied on data. Later, in SMS applications, mobile advertising, and life-service e-commerce, every time I dove into new technology while it was still "not ready."
In the AI era, the value of this trait has been amplified 100-fold. Today, you don't need capital, you don't need a team, you don't need connections. You need a laptop, an AI account, and a willingness to learn — and you can start creating value.
Steve Jobs said: "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do." In the AI era, this should be updated to: "The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world ALONE are the ones who do."
